Fresh from successful shows featuring folkie balladeer Johnoy Danao in October; Cebuano indie hero Franco Reyes in November; as well as back-to-back performances by Barbie Almalbis and Kitchie Nadal dubbed as Eve’s Faire a mere week ago, Requiem Rising is mounting yet another show for the homesick Pinoy (and then some). This time, the spotlight will be on guitar-wielding singer-songwriter Julianne Tarroja (or, simply, Julianne), whose saccharine tunes, confident folk-tinged instrumentation, and imaginative arrangements (check out Grateful under MCA Music, for starters) have captured a modest but steadily growing of band of followers. Don’t take our word for it, though; if you’re in Singapore and have an ear for incredible new music, witness Julianne as she does what she does best at the BluJaz Café, Bali Lane, Singapore on December 8, 8PM.
